PCN was founded in 1975, under the name Logical Options as a provider of Contingency Search services supporting the IT industry. Logical Options was one of just a very small handful of search firms in this brand new industry.
In 1988 Logical Options merged with Sanderson and Associates to form Professional Consulting Network, “PCN”. The result of the merger gave birth to a new service offering, Contract Consulting. It was the perfect compliment to the already well-established search service. PCN went on to market the two services together as a “full service” solution to its clients’ IT staffing needs.
PCN was acquired in 1999 by Educor (later renamed Logical Options), a South African conglomerate of private education and staffing services. The strategic intent was to have PCN as its dominant Technology division within the North American marketplace and as such it was to position itself for growth and national expansion with its major infrastructure to remain in the Bay Area. A change of CEOs in 2001 resulted in a shift in their strategy as it related to North America. Logical Options made the decision that North America was no longer a part of their long-term growth strategy. Therefore, in June 2002, PCN management embarked upon an MBO, led by Peter Jozwik.
